Roleplay FAQ Empty
Roleplay FAQ

Serenity River Pack is a semi realistic wolf RP; to clarify, we stick to realistic wolf behavior and abilities. However, creative liberty is allowed, in such a way they are personified and have basic intelligence (such as being able to talk, and understanding herbs have benefits).

Roleplay FAQ Style11

When posting, make sure it’s done so in third person. Writing in third person is accomplished by observing your character- explaining their thoughts and feelings, their actions, and how they interact with the environment and those around them. It is important to note that this is only done with *your* character; writing about another’s character can be qualified as god modding or powerplaying (see below). When writing in third person, it's important to use past tense- everything you write about, write as if it were in the past.  If you are new to RP, please visit the Writing Advice section for a more in depth look.

Roleplay FAQ Liquid10
Liquid time is having your character in multiple areas at once; after your character has entered a thread, please do not join another until you write that your character has left the current one. If you or the person you’re Rp’ing with has to take a leave of absence, SRP staff recommend you find a stopping point in the RP, so as to keep it flowing.

Roleplay FAQ Mates10
Anything related to the mating process is, naturally, not allowed, and will result in a ban. Serenity River Pack strives to be safe for work, and welcoming to a younger audience. Having a mate and pups is, of course, allowed, however, any mature content related to such is not.

Characters of any sexual orientation are allowed in the RP; with this being said, do not bring personal, IRL stuff into the RP. this is strictly about your character, do not bring current issues and events into the matter.

Roleplay FAQ Huntin10
If you wish to have your character interact with wildlife other than their fellow wolves, please post a request for a NPC account. These are played by our wonderful staff, and will interact much like the usual RP. However, do not expect the hunt to go your way; much like the real world, the struggle to find food is harsh. Wolves in the wild only have a 13% success rate for their hunts; while we’ll be more generous in this regard, things can go awry. If your character is not cautious, they can and will be injured, in addition to losing their dinner. Tread carefully!

Roleplay FAQ Fighti10
Disagreements happen, especially in the roleplay, and verbal arguments often quickly escalate into a physical fight. During such a fight, your character can injure the opponent, though run the risk of injuring themselves. Critical or fatal injuries cannot be inflicted without permission from the character's owner.

Whenever your character is engaged in a fight, all actions performed against an opponent are considered an *attempt*. For example, if your character tries to topple their opponent to the ground, you cannot write that their character falls to the ground; rather, you vocalize that your character attempts to do so.

It is recommended that, when preparing to go into a fight, you talk with the other character’s owner out of the RP. Determine who you want to win, or if it will be a draw. Should either party want an outcome decided by a third party, a mod will oversee the fight, and determine the winner based on character traits, and their ingenuity during the fight.

It is important to describe your actions concisely and in detail. If a mod is requested to oversee the fight, their word is final.

Roleplay FAQ Powerp10
Powerplaying is defined as one person controlling the actions of anothers character without express permission from the owner. This does not just apply to fights- any attempt to write another character's actions that is not your own will be met with a warning.

Godmodding is much like powerplaying, though it is best described as having a nigh-invincible character. Ignoring limitations imposed by reality, shrugging off injuries, and treating your character as a Mary Sue are all examples of godmodding. Let your character feel pain, and have them react accordingly.

Remember, the best characters feel pain, sadness, and negativity just as much as they would feel fulfillment, happiness, and positivity. For a character to truly experience a victory, they must be familiar with defeat.

Roleplay FAQ Otherw10
There are no other wolves except approved characters and those brought in for the sake of a plot. Please visit plot suggestions if you wish to enact your own story.

Roleplay FAQ Npc_s10
Non playable Characters, such as wildlife or plot characters, are controlled by the staff. As such, please fill out a request form if you wish to engage in a hunt, or need an outside character for a plot.
